Iroquois Nations Strands

Cayuga Nation is represented by 6 strands of 50 purple beads each.
Mohawk Nation is represented by 6 strands consisting of 18 sets of 2 purple and one white bead. (54 beads per strand)

Oneida Nation is represented by 7 strands. Starting at the bottom with 12 purple beads, one white, 3 purple and 35 purple (51 beads per strand).

Onondaga Nation is represented by 4 strands consisting of 18 sets of one white and 2 purple beads (54 beads per strand).

Seneca Nation is represented by 4 strands consisting of 13 sets of two white and 2 purple beads (52 beads).
Tuscarora Nation is represented by 7 strands. Starting at the bottom with 3 purple, one white, three purple, one white and the remanding 46 beads all purple. (52 beads per strand)

Description:

Six Nation Tribal Wampum Strings

Each of the Nations of the Iroquois has a special string of wampum which signifies the identity of that nation. When at council the speaker will hold up his nation's strings.
